Advance auto trex tape9/14/2023 This tape can be used efficiently in any temperatures ranging from 32☏ to 200☏, so you know that in most climates you will have a secure seal. in width, which is stronger than both general-purpose and military grade duct tape. So I am not worried about these few new blocks eventually losing the straps. The powerful adhesive on T-Rex tape is made from a natural rubber and has a tensile strength of 52 lbs./in. I’ve re-used several old blocks from the previous deck and anchored down newer post bases in many spots. If I don’t get better performance out of the tape, I’d Like to save the money.ġ- is it worthwhile to slap a coat of exterior paint on all of the beams and braces? Is it in the “couldn’t hurt”, “waste of time” or “will cause issues” category ?Ģ- I used a few of the concrete post blocks with the straps cast in before I had understood the affect ACQ has on steel and grades of galvanized products. So I am lookin at $200+ of tape vs $30 plus a few more minutes to cut it and staple it down. Using the tape for the limited LF of the beams seems reasonable, but I have several hundred LF of joists. Is there one brand of deck tape that is better than the others? Or another product, like the tape, that is cheaper, like flashing or something? What is is the difference (besides ease and labor) between using the various deck joist tapes out there and using #15 roofing felt? The T-Rex Tape held up like a champ where others would have been shaking in their boots and leaking their contents onto the floor in a puddle of disappointment. I am building a composite deck using Trex decking, over (all new) PT 2圆 joists, over PT 4圆 beams (some old green type and some newer ACQ).
